Empty Nesters
Congregants of a "certain age" - with kids long gone from the homestead, (or NO kids) have been getting together for some years to share an afternoon or an evening doing "something fun" with their peers - the Empty Nesters!
The planning for a month's event is undertaken by an individual (singles are welcome) or a couple, on a rotating basis, who research the activity and make the arrangements and then contact the rest of the group. Carpooling to Brookside Gardens, or Havre de Grace to the Decoy Museum, meeting at an unusual place for dinner or lunch, attending a dramatic performance together have been some of the more recent trips. Highlights of past events include a visit to the Jewish Museum of Baltimore, a lunch cruise on the Bay Lady, and an evening playing Trivial Pursuit! Anything goes!
The most recent event was lunch at the Ram's Head Restaurant, at Savage Mills, followed by a performance at Oseh Shalom of "Not One Life, but Several ... A Visit with Henrietta Szold, founder of Hadassah".
Members of the congregation interested in this active and exciting group should contact the CJC office for the Empty Nesters' contact information.
