Yiddush: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

The Generations After’s next program highlights Sarah Bunin Benor, Vice Provost and Professor of Contemporary Jewish Studies at Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion and Adjunct Professor in the University of Southern California Linguistics Department. She received her Ph.D. in Linguistics from Stanford University.

Dr. Benor will provide a context for understanding the history, impact, and current evolution of the Yiddish language and culture. This heimisch and delightful program will also include video clips from The Folksbiene Yiddish Theatre, the longest-running Yiddish theatre company in the world; Yiddish poems read in Yiddish and English; and Yiddish songs.
