Yizkor

The rabbis understood death as a natural part of life.  It was one more stage in our spiritual development, one we did not necessarily like or desire, but one that had lessons to teach us nonetheless.  As a result the rabbis created a thorough means by which one can mourn losses.  One piece of this process was establishing yizkor which literally means memorial.  This is a service held four times a year in which we pause for about 20 minutes to remember in community those we miss.

Holiday times in particular can be a mixed experience.  On the one hand, we are grateful for the time to celebrate with family and friends.  On the other hand, we are saddened by the awareness of those who are missing.

Please join us as we come together to end Shavuot with our community.
