CJC’s Community Shiva-Style Gathering

The October 7th terrorist attacks inflicted by Hamas on Israeli citizens were some of the most tragic and heartbreaking in living Jewish memory. We know that all of us, in different ways, have felt the painful ripples of fear and sadness in our hearts, minds and bodies this year.

Between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, we will mark the first yahrzeit of the October 7th attacks. As we do, let us gather in sacred community to commemorate, together, a year so marked by tragedy and grief.

On Monday morning, October 7th @ 10am, we will share a casual bagel brunch, give lots of hugs (consensual of course) and check in with one another. This is intended to be an apolitical space where we can move from the head to the heart in order to show up for one another.
