SRJ PODCAST DISCUSSION of THE BIGGEST TABLE INTERVIEW OF CULINARY HISTORIAN MICHAEL W. TWITTY

Sunday, March 2, 7:30pm, via Zoom

In recognition of Black History Month, please join the Standing for Racial Justice Committee to discuss the engaging and enlightening interview with Michael W. Twitty on The Biggest Table podcast. Michael W. Twitty is a culinary historian who is Black and Jewish, and as noted in the podcast description, he “…shares insights into how food serves as a medium for exploring cultural identity, heritage, and spirituality.” and he “…delves into his journey of connecting African American and Jewish food traditions. He discusses profound themes around the biblical narrative of Exodus, the legacy of slavery, and the importance of storytelling and memory in food.”

We hope you’ll have a chance to listen to the podcast before the discussion, and you’re welcome even if you don’t. (Note, due to scheduling difficulties, we were not able to bring the program in February, which is actually Black History Month). Register here and contact Eileen Singleton (eileenmgs@gmail.com) with any questions.
