Road Salt Reduction

It is that time of year when people’ s thoughts turn to keeping their driveways and sidewalks ice free.  Don’t just dump a bunch of salt – it won’t work any better than a sprinkle and will damage your concrete and more. A little sprinkle goes a long way. Try and shovel/sweep a path – any icemelter really doesn’t work well on snow. IF you do salt – do it judiciously (see picture) and use an ice melter that does not contain sodium chloride aka rock salt. Even around here a small bag of icemelter will get most people through the winter. If you do get a heap: sweep and reuse! Info omigreenteam@gmail.com
