Inclement Weather Procedures – Sundays & Special Holiday Programs
CJCS will strive to make advance decisions regarding cancellations of school classes or other activities due to poor weather conditions at least 2 hours prior to the schedule start time (and sooner when possible).
Generally speaking, if a Snow Emergency Plan is in effect for Howard County at the time a decision must be made, CJCS classes and/or activities will be canceled, but please await official word.
Once a decision to cancel has been made, we will notify our staff and families via email and Team Snap.

If poor weather conditions emerge only AFTER classes and activities are already underway, we will typically continue on with our plans. We note that, parents who wish to do so, may ALWAYS come to the school and pick their children up early if they so choose.
In ALL instances, we encourage parents to exercise their own best judgement about the travel times and conditions they face and take all reasonable steps to ensure safe travel.
Inclement Weather Procedures – Thursdays
If the Howard County Public School system closes for the day or closes early, CJCS Thursday night classes will automatically be canceled. For all weather-related matters that occur or may occur after regular public school hours, teacher(s) will make a decision by at least 6:00pm and will send out an email notification.
