The Amazing Influence of Hebrew on the English Language

We will see, in fun and surprising ways, how Hebrew, the original language of the Bible, has affected the English language through vocabulary of everyday speech. We’ll explore what the Pilgrims, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Benjamin Franklin had to do with Hebrew.  We will understand the interesting problems caused by mistranslations of some original Biblical texts, and we will learn HOW new, modern Hebrew words are created constantly to keep up with an ever-changing world. This is a lively, interactive presentation! Knowledge of Hebrew is not necessary to enjoy this class.
