This year’s Holocaust Memorial Service in Howard County will feature a powerful and moving program presented in partnership with Teach The Shoah, an international organization dedicated to challenging ignorance and hate through testimony-based storytelling that fosters meaningful personal connections to the history and lessons of the Holocaust.
The theme of this year’s program is “Teach The Shoah: Telling the Stories of the Holocaust to Keep the Memories Alive.”
During the service, we will hear from three local storytellers—second, third, and fourth generation descendants of Holocaust survivors—who will share the stories of their loved ones in the first person, bringing these powerful experiences to life in a deeply personal way.
Presenters include:
Dylan, a fourth-generation descendant, sharing the story of his great-grandmother and her experiences during the Holocaust
Alison, a third-generation descendant, recounting the story of her grandmother
Dr. David Halpern, a second-generation survivor, telling the story of his mother’s fight for survival
These moving first-person narratives help listeners connect deeply with the individuals behind the history—ensuring their voices, experiences, and memories continue to resonate with future generations.
